Principal's Letter to Parents

Dear Parents / Guardians,

As we are nearing the end of another academic year, I would like to bring some important information to your attention.

School Closings:

1. The school will close early on Thursday 28th June at 12 noonfor a Staff Meeting. The children will go home at 12 noon.

2. School closes for the Summer Holidays on Friday 29th June at 12 noon.

Book Rentals and Materials Money

Many thanks to all who have paid the Rental & Materials Money for 2018/2019.The majority of parents have now paid however,if you havenot yet paid, please complete payment before the school closes on Friday 29th June.

Children whose Book Rental Money is fully paid will receive their books when they return to school onMonday 3rd September 2018.

Maintenance Contribution

The €5.00 Maintenance Contribution for June is due. Many thanks to all of you who have paid. The draw for €100 takes place Thursday 28th June so please send in your contribution before Friday to ensureinclusion in the draw. I would like to take this opportunity to thank allfamilies who contributed consistently throughout the past school year. These funds are a tremendous help in keeping the school looking as well as it does.

Library Books

As you are aware we have invested large sums of money raised by our Parent Teacher Association,to build up a stock of excellent books for our class libraries. If your child has any School Library Books at home please send them into the schoolas soon as possible.

Cake Sale and “Wear The Blue” in aid of Mozambique:

  1. Our annual Cake Sale in aid of our twin school, Passo-a-Passo, in Mozambique (Mr. Fitzsimon’s school - past member of staff in St. Mark’s SNS) will be held on Thursday 21st June.

  1. We are asking all children to “Wear The Blue”. They wear their tracksuit bottoms or blue jeanswith a blue t-shirt (school polo shirt, if they so wish) and they bring in €2.

  1. The 6th Class teachers and their children will organise the event in the school hall. We are hoping to raise a lot of money for Passo-a-Passo. Please help us.

Sixth Class Barbecue / Sports Day :

Our 6th Class pupils will be having a Barbecue on Tuesday 26th June tocelebrate the contribution they have made to the school community over the past four years. They will also be taking part in various sports activities in the morning. Ms. Jean Gilmore, our School Completion Coordinator and the sixth class teachers will providing the barbecue.

Graduation Sixth Class:

The Graduation Mass for the Sixth Classes will be celebrated by Fr. Bill in St. Mark’s Church on Wednesday 27th June 2018 at 11.30 a.m.This is a very special event for our sixth class children and their parents or guardians.Children under the age of 18 years must be accompanied by an adult. All families received an invitation to this event today. There will be a reception in the School Hall after the Graduation Ceremony in the Church.
